The Pura Vida Youth International Leadership Program exposes academically high-performing minority youth to history, culture, and international travel in a way that builds leadership, personal identity, and belonging to a global community.
Empowering Future Leaders
The program fosters leadership skills in academically outstanding minority youth by immersing them in transformative experiences that encourage self-confidence, decision-making, and teamwork.
Cultural and Global Exposure
Participants gain a deeper understanding of history and culture through international travel, broadening their worldview and strengthening their connection to a global community.
Personal Growth and Identity
By exploring diverse environments, the program helps youth build a strong sense of personal identity and belonging, equipping them to excel as global citizens.

We are excited for cohort 2025 to experience the history, culture, and landscape of the beautiful Dominican Republic! This 6 day trip will offer scholars the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a unique cultural experience.

Entrepreneurship
Pura Vida is delighted to partner with the national non-profit VentureLab to deliver high-quality entrepreneurship programming. Students learn to launch their own small businesses, developing creativity and earning funds to support their international travel and future goals.

Language Learning
Students participate in over 50 hours of small-group Spanish immersion, gaining practical language skills and cultural confidence. These sessions prepare students for international travel and help them build stronger global connections through language.

Money Management
Through our partnership with Junior Achievement, Pura Vida delivers engaging financial education focused on budgeting, saving, and responsible money management. Students gain the tools to become good stewards of their income as they fundraise and prepare for travel.
